It's a Special Someone's B-day :)

This was meant to be updated last night, but our internet was acting funky...

Somebody is now 1 year of away from
the big 3-0
which I tease him incessantly about  ;)

It's all in love because I am so proud of him.  I'm gonna stay away from getting too sappy because it was all in his b-day card from last night, so I'll spare you all from that.  In all seriousness, though, he's my best friend, the love of my life, & I'm so thankful that God blessed me with him  <3

somebody squeezed them self in the bottom of this pic  :)

Feel free to leave a comment wishing Thew a happy b-day, even if it is a bit belated...I know he'd love to hear from you  :)

I S-T-I-N-K at Blogging Lately

3 weeks!  Goodness, gracious...where did the time go?

Some updates in the Fohn Fam life lately...
Mischief Night this year was spent with Ma Bateman in D.C. at the 2008 Tour of Gymnastics Superstars  :)

I could not believe how good our seats were...this pic was taken right next them...

there's Nastia Liukin...

the Hamm twins...

and most of the Olympic Team including Shawn Johnson...

...Shannon Miller was even there!  Women's' Olympic Gymnastics is my absolute favorite sport to watch, so when I heard that this tour was coming to D.C., I was all over this.  One of my favorite memories from growing up is when my mom took me to go see the Olympic Trials held locally when I was little.  I could think of no better person to join me in this show than my mom who took me to that awesome show years and years ago.

I took a personal day on Halloween to chill at my mom's and enjoy some time off since I was back in D.C. that night  :)

We had a very Happy Halloween at the
COLDPLAY CONCERT...

this was our surprise (to Thew) early Christmas present this year...I'm an awesome wife  ;)

this is our FAVORITE band, I mean, our Wedding Song was even "Green Eyes"...we're huge fans...our first Coldplay concert was a little over 1 month after we were married 3 years ago & they haven't been in town since, so we've been craving some live Coldplay...

Thew said after hearing that song, he knew he wanted to dance to it with me at our wedding...what fiance wouldn't melt at that?  The album containing that song came out around the time we met...which was actually six years ago to the day of this concert  :)  as we ourselves fell in love over that time, we, in turn, fell in love with Coldplay.  There have been countless hours that we have spent listening to them together in our cars, college apartments, and now, our home...
ok, see the people behind us?

towards the end of the concert, Coldplay came in the stands to what would have been DIRECTLY behind us, but they picked the opposite side of the arena...it was still awesome...

they even thanked us for coming out on a Friday to see them & spending our Halloween with them...are you kidding me?  No...thank you, Coldplay!
I took a lot of video on Thew's camera, but that is strictly for the Fohn Fam's viewing pleasure, since I really wasn't supposed to even be using a camera at the concert.

The following week we only had to teach 3 days because of a Teacher Work Day and the Election.  So because b-ball started today (Thew's a JV Coach at one of the local HS), I wanted to give Thew another surprise since the season goes through the beginning of March & our time together is shorter than usual over the next 4 months.

At the end of the last season I coached HS lax, the team spoiled me rotten with a huge gift certificate to The Bavarian Inn in Sheperdstown, WV that we finally used on the eve of the Election.  It was BEAUTIFUL & it was wonderful to enjoy a lavish room & lounge around with room service until halfway through the next day.  We even squeezed in a visit to Sonic (see this for an explanation of the small obsession we have with that lovely place)...yummm.

Last Saturday, I was back in D.C. celebrating this lovely girl...
who is getting married next Saturday  :)

Beth & I drove down together to hang with Christa & her friends from HS...

we had a blast eating tapas in Chinatown, sipping Starbucks, & traipsing around D.C. with our boas making a scene.  I'm not much of a going out person, but it's fun every once in a while...especially with good friends  :)

we threw a Couple's Shower back in September for Charlie & Christa to celebrate the last members of our Couple's Bible Study to tie the knot.  I can't wait for their wedding next weekend  :)

Not all of the happenings in our life of the past few weeks have been joyous events.  We had to say goodbye to these guys...
the Davis Family is spending time down in GA with their extended families right now as they prepare to fly to Guam next weekend for a 3 year stint due to Lee's Navy job...

I'm sitting here trying to hold back the tears from thinking that Tiffani's not going to be around for a while.  Though we girls only met here not even 1 year ago, she's been such a great friend & I'm really going to miss her.  One of the things I love most about Tif is that she's a wonderfully strong wife & mother, so selfless and giving.  Her & Lee are the veteran marrieds of our Bible Study with 7+ years under their belts.  I'll always remember a conversation we had once about the blessing that being a mother is.  Tif and I have had multiple talks on how God has made clear to us that He's called us two to be wives & mothers and while she gets to fulfill both those rolls now, I hope to one day join her in that.  I can't wait to see where we're all be in three years and for our big reunion party when they return to the States.  I'm gonna miss those kids, too...Lyrik, Lenden, & Kinslee...such cuties that I love hearing stories about (keep 'em coming, Tif).  We love you and will miss you all so much!

Now that I'm all choked up, I think that's it for now...catch ya'll later...
